What We Do
Bit Of Hope's mission is to alleviate homelessness and increase hopefulness by lending a helping hand; giving the gift of hope by way of servicing communities. Bit Of Hope will help feed and provide resources to those less fortunate, in an effort to be the light at the end of the tunnel.
Current Projects
Sack Lunch Sunday's - The mission of this project is to provide 100 lunches to the homeless community every third Sunday of the month. Volunteers come together to put together a sack lunch; fill the bags with a sandwich, water, fruit, chips, and a custom fortune cookie. Afterward, we go into the community to distribute the lunches to heavily populated homeless areas.
Cold Weather Campaign - Bit of Hope collects items leading up to November to assist in keeping the homeless people warm through the Winter months. On the third Sunday of November we begin distributing the cold weather items. These items include: blankets, scarves, gloves. coats, etc...
Projects in the works
Men Monday's - 100 free shampoo and haircut/shave for men/boys within the homeless community. Assisting in keeping up with hygiene to those who can't afford to get it done themselves.
Toiletry Tuesday's - It seems one of the hardest things to keep up with when you don't have a home is personal hygiene. Therefore, Bit Of Hope will be collecting hygiene products to include liquid soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, etc. These items will be distributed throughout the year, on the third Tuesday of every month.
Women Wednesday's - 100 free shampoo and hairstyle for women/girls within the homeless community. Assisting in keeping up with hygiene to those who can't afford to get it done themselves.
Thirsty Thursday's - Bit Of Hope will collect cases of water, gatorade, and powerade throughout the month. Items will be distributed to help decrease dehydration in the homeless community
Fundraiser Projects
Annual "Lyrics and Libations" fundraiser - Spoken Word event to raise funds to support the mission of Bit Of Hope. Artist from the local Atlanta area will perform their craft; spoken word, music, painting. Art work will be raffled at the end of each show; all proceeds will go toward the mission of Bit Of Hope.
Annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament fundraiser - 10 teams will form and pay a registration fee to enter the competition. There will be two rounds of games, the 1st and 2nd place teams will get a trophy, a prize and bragging rights. The proceeds will go toward fulfilling the mission of Bit Of Hope.
